Job Description

Job Purpose

Job holder will be responsible to ensure Shariah Compliance in day-to-day business activities and documentation of the assigned Business Unit (department). For this, she / he will be liable to coordinate with Shariah Department and related stakeholders.

Selected candidates will be posted at any of the following department:

  • Corporate Banking
  • Investment Banking
  • Agriculture
  • Commercial Banking & Small Medium Enterprises

Job Description:

  • Act as a bridge between the deputed Business Unit and Shariah team for the matters related to Shariah Compliance
  • Prepare and update MIS (tracking sheets for individual customers)
  • Maintain, review and update files of process flows, product manuals, Shariah board notifications / rulings and Shariah approvals
  • Timely inform Relationship Manager and Shariah Compliance Department regarding any modification / deviation observed in a customer’s business cycle. Incorporate the same in related documents
  • Ensure compliance of Shariah-guidelines issued from time to time
  • Obtain and maintain Shariah approvals in case of any deviation in process flows
  • Facilitate customers in preparation of required transactional documents
  • Support Business Unit in disbursement / settlement process
  • Prepare Models (Running Musharakah, Istisna, Tijarah & Salam Financing) in consultation with Relationship Managers. Then get the same endorsed by Islamic Banking / Shariah Compliance Department and get it reviewed by Risk Management Function 
  • Timely perform customer visits for physical inspection / verification of goods etc. as required
  • Provide required documents to Shariah department for annual / interim reviews
  • Facilitate Shariah Audit Reviews & resolve discrepancies / observations

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, preferably, masters / MBA from a reputed institution
  • Fresh graduate with Islamic Banking & Finance Certification / Course, or
  • 1-2 years Shariah Compliance-related work experience
  • Knowledge of Shariah Compliant Financial Products will be a plus
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills
  • Good at Microsoft Office
